A Message From Our Senior Ambassador
It’s fair season again and I can’t believe this year has flown by so quickly! I am so honoured to have been able to serve as the Orangeville Senior Fair Ambassador for the 2015/16 year and to represent the town at other fairs, the OAAS Convention and this summer, the CNE. The privilege of being the Senior Fair Ambassador has offered me the ability to explore the role of agriculture, and agricultural societies, not only within Orangeville and Dufferin County but the impact on Ontario and Canada as a whole.
Travelling back and forth between Ottawa and Orangeville for school, and events as the ambassador, has offered me a unique chance to see the different approaches to agriculture in each area and the level of involvement from place to place. I hope that in future years, as Orangeville continues to grow and develop, we never lose our agricultural roots as so many larger areas have. I sincerely hope more young people look to learn more about this important part of our local background and seek to become more involved in this and our community as a whole and can honestly say, there’s no better way than by becoming a fair ambassador. ~ Emily Manzerolle
A Message From Our Junior Ambassador
I am so very thankful for being given the opportunity to be the 2015-2016 Junior Ambassador, and representing the Orangeville Agricultural Society at our home fair and at other neighboring fairs as well. I have realized that volunteering is more than just a requirement to graduate, it is an eye opening experience which helps to gain the experience and to meet the amazing people who help to put on this fair.
I hope that in being the Junior Ambassador I can get more people involved in the position and in our Agricultural Society to help create great memories and even better friendships. The fair is an amazing event and I hope that more people come out to support it as well as being a part of the Ambassador program.
